Belo Monte – Um Mundo Onde Tudo É Possível

Return
The recent Belo Monte hydroelectric dam is the second largest of its kind on the planet, diverting the Xingu River in the heart of the Amazon on the edge of Brazil’s largest indigenous reserve. Environmentalists, indigenous peoples, and the inhabitants of the region were only able to delay the work; they could not prevent the completion of this very controversial project, which endangers a unique environment and whose benefits may not meet expectations.
