Un homme est mort

Return
Brest, 1950: rebuilding the city is in full swing. Its workers strike, protesting in vain for a pay rise. The entire city, including four workers – P'tit Zef, Edouard, Désiré, and Paulette – take part in a big demonstration organised by the CGT Workers’ Union. Violent clashes erupt and the police start firing at the crowd; a bullet strikes Édouard in the forehead. So the Union commissioned René Vautier to make a film about the workers’ struggle.
